Neonatal unit wins equipment to aid comfort and development of babies

The neonatal unit at Lincoln County Hospital has been presented with new equipment after a staff member put the unit forward in a competition. Jenna Robinson, staff nurse nominated Lincoln County Hospital neonatal unit in a competition to win Cuski positioning aids and mini boo comforters. The competition, ran by Cuski, involved individuals nominating neonatal units and special care baby units across the UK that had delivered exceptional care.

Lincolnshire first in the UK to use a new technique to treat skin cancer

Patients with non-melanoma skin cancer in Lincolnshire are benefitting from a new technique which is not only quicker and protects healthy tissue but is a first in the UK. United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is the first trust in the UK to use this type of treatment.

Nurse braves the shave for Macmillan

A brave hair proud staff nurse has had her locks shaved to raise money for Macmillan Cancer. Donna Wylka invited family, friends, colleagues and members of the public to watch her have her hair shaved off in reception at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston where she works as a staff nurse at Ambulatory Emergency Care.

Lincolnshire hospitals finding new ways to attract A&E doctors to the county

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is taking an innovative approach in attracting new doctors to work in its emergency departments. The Trust is advertising a series of new posts for doctors who wish to take their career to the next level. Whilst working in an A&E, doctors will be given time off each week to study part-time and the course fees will be paid for by the Trust.

New nurses welcomed to Lincolnshire’s hospitals

100 new nurses are starting work in hospitals across Lincolnshire today. The newly qualified nurses, who have just graduated from the nursing degree at the University of Lincoln, will significantly boost nursing numbers at Lincoln County Hospital, Pilgrim Hospital in Boston and Grantham and District Hospital.
