Useful information for patients who are homeless in Boston

Drug and alcohol use

The A & E Department sees some homeless people who have problems with alcohol or drugs. If you are one of them then there are several things we can do for you:

  • Check that your blood sugar level is within normal range
  • Treat you with vitamins if you are in a confused or drowsy state
  • Offer you a prescription for vitamins if you are in danger of a severe deficiency
  • Also refer you to We Are With You who help support individuals of drug and alcohol abuse.

We Are With You (previously Addaction) Lincolnshire provides confidential advice, support and treatment on drug and alcohol misuse for adults and young people and their families.  The service is embedded throughout the Lincolnshire community and includes outreach services.

The P3 homeless outreach service

P3 are funded by Lincolnshire County Council to provide two services in the county:

  • Floating Support – who work with people to maintain their tenancies and live independently, aiming to prevent people becoming homeless.
  • Street Outreach – who work with people who have found themselves rough sleeping.

Both services have the combined aim to work closely with individuals and positively tackle homelessness across the county.
