With the weather (finally) hotting up over the past few weeks, now seems like as good a time as ever to remind us all to #staysafethissummer
Remember to drink plenty of water in the hot weather – a cider might be nice and tempting in the sunshine, but avoiding alcohol and caffeine will help you stay hydrated.
Hot weather is great for getting out in the sun, but it can be tough for some with long-term health conditions or the elderly. Make sure you check in on friends, neighbours and family members. It’s a great excuse for a cold lemonade and catch up.
Looking like a bronzed god or goddess on holiday is most people’s ideal, but dodgy tan lines and sunburnt shoulders aren’t fun. Be sun smart and remember to apply sun cream and stay out of the sun between 11am and 3pm.
Don’t be a victim of pollen. Get to the pharmacy and stock up on hay fever medication and if you’re going on a summer holiday don’t forget to pack the essentials – passport, sun cream, giant inflatable unicorn…

Finally, with BBQ weather now on the cards, make th
e most of your #GreatBritishsummer, but make sure your bangers aren’t clangers. Ensure your meat is cooked through before serving up for friends and family.
