Work has started in earnest across Lincoln County Hospital as we continue to move forward with our fire safety improvements.
Contractors have been busy in the maternity unit, Hatton and Greetwell wards and will spread across other areas in due course.
Fire resisting barriers are being installed in all buildings and fire doors replaced, in addition to fire dampers, emergency lighting and detection upgrades.
We’re still urging all staff to book on and attend a fire evacuation training session and complete their core learning to ensure all staff are up-to-date and equipped with the right knowledge to keep our patients safe in the unlikely event of a fire in one of our hospitals.
Thanks go to all staff at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston who responded brilliantly recently when a small fire was caused by a patient having a cigarette on a ward – their quick thinking undoubtedly saved many patients and staff.
